Why AEGEAN MONO is the extra virgin olive oil of choice
A polyphenol-rich, single-varietal olive oil, Aegean Mono, made purely from Throumbolia in the Aegean. This is the oldest known Greek variety, growing in the Greek islands for 5,000 years.
The oldest olive trees in Greece (in Crete and Naxos) belong to this variety. The oldest trees in our own olive grove are estimated to be around 500-600 years old. The olive oil smells of freshly cut grass, unripe and ripe fruits, green olives and olive leaves, artichokes, tomato leaves, chamomile, apple, berries, nuts, tropical fruits, vanilla, blossoms and green pepper. It has been awarded the Great Taste Award (1 star).
The olive oil has a very low acidity and a high polyphenol content. Therefore, it bears a health claim according to Regulation (EU) No. 432/2012. This olive oil contains more than 5 mg of polyphenols per 20 g of olive oil and, according to Regulation (EU) No. 432/2012, is among the oils that protect against the oxidation of blood lipids. The substances oleocanthal and eleasin are known to have significant biological activity and possess anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, cardioprotective, and neuroprotective properties. Recommended
